Martin Öhlin had a great weekend at Ring Knutstorp claiming a victory and a second place from the two races which were both run under wet and tricky conditions. Martin started third in the first race, made a great getaway and claimed second position immediately. Despite poor visibility he could follow eventual winner Fredrik Larsson closely and took an important second place.
– Only a couple of tenths seperated mine and Larssons laptimes and I had no problems keeping Robin Rudholm behind me, Martin said. I’m very happy, this is a good start to the weekend.

By setting the second fastest lap in the race Martin claimed second start position for the second race. This race looked set to be run in dry conditions when a rain shower hit the track shortly before the start. This didn’t faze Martin who performs good in the rain and this race was no exception. He once again made a great start and could take the lead around the outside going into the first corner. Martin could control the rest of the race and took his third victory in Carrera Cup and his first this season.
– This feels really good, I know I can beat them all and it’s good to finally prove this. Everything clicked this time and then we can finish first. The start was great and after that I was able to control the race. A great feeling!

The results also means that Martin Öhlin secured third position in the championship with two races to go, thus making this is best season in Carrera Cup.
– With third position secured we can now to go Mantorp without thinking about points and championship positions and just go for it, Martin finished.

The results also pleased teammanager Dick Jönsson-Wigroth and he was happy to see Martin deliver his best weekend this season.
– Even better than securing third position in the championship is the fact that Martin drove two great races this weekend and really attacked as he promised to do before the weekend. A victory and a second place is a really good result, especially considering Martindidn’t have pole position for any of the races. Now we can go to Mantorp with the same approach that we had here and just go for it and see how far that takes us.
